Saving Mr. Banks

Saving Mr. Banks was a delightful look behind the scenes of the preparation for the Mary Poppins movie. I enjoyed the cat-and-mouse (no pun intended) back-and-forth between Emma Thompson’s author character and…pretty much everyone else. The score was lovely, and I can see it getting an Oscar nomination. Fine work was done by the supporting cast, which includes Tom Hanks, Colin Farrell, Paul Giamatti, Bradley Whitford, and a singing/piano-playing Jason Schwartzman, but what spoke to me the most was the message, which I won’t reveal here, and the surprises during the end credits, which I’ll also leave you to find out for yourself.
