Hotel Transylvania 2 is decent for a straight-to-video sequel. Will children enjoy it? Probably. Is there anything really wrong with it? Not a thing. Conversely, there is nothing really right with it, and it’s nothing I ever need to see again, except for when I’m starting it up on Netflix because I’d like the TV to babysit my children for an hour and a half. You should do your kids a favor, though. Have them see Inside Out – the best kids movie of the year. It is a fantastic exploration of the human condition. It lives and breathes and is filled to the brim with heart and originality. Or hell, put on Shaun the Sheep the Movie before HT2. I admit I did enjoy that the Invisible Man character has a line of workout videos. If there’s anybody who doesn’t need to worry about his weight and can just let himself go…
