Black Swan

Black Swan was dark, hypnotic, and more than a little unsettling. Darren Aronofsky (Pi, Requiem For a Dream, The Wrestler) directs with such claustrophobic intensity. Lots and lots of close-ups, to the point where we’re dying to see what’s beyond the frame. Natalie Portman presents a tour-de-force performance that I hope gets award nominations.
