Les Miserables was the kind of beautiful, magical, exhausting, emotionally charged movie musical that makes me hope all others in this genre follow suit in this way. Some keys were changed, mainly to accommodate Jackman’s nanny goat vibratoed baritone and Crowe’s pleasant but poppy vibrato-less baritone. A true find in the movie is Samantha Barks as Eponine. I enjoyed Colm Wilkinson’s cameo – nice little torch-passing there. You should all see it – it is rich with things to discuss.
